Mountain Valley Pipeline, LLC | MVP Boost Project | Non-Binding Open Season
Since entering operation in June 2024, MVP Mainline has played a critical role in meeting public demand for affordable, reliable and lower-carbon energy. In January 2025, the project began operating at its full capacity of 2 billion cubic feet (bcf) per day, and a recent joint report from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and North American Electric Reliability Corporation credited MVP Mainline with helping to avoid supply curtailments during extreme weather and periods of record demand.
This summer, Mountain Valley conducted an open season to gauge potential shipper interest in increasing capacity on the pipeline. This formal business process reflects the joint venture’s due diligence in assessing public demand for natural gas and the potential to add capacity via the enhancement of existing compressor stations in West Virginia and addition of one greenfield compressor station in Virginia. Additional information will be available after Mountain Valley completes a comprehensive review of the open season.
